On the 26th May 2007, an American crew of sailors, from the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle Ship, kindly volunteered for the day up at
The Hope Sanctuary, St. George. With the guidance of The Hope Team, a group of seventeen men and women helped maintain
and fix the dogs kennels by painting, resurfacing the floors, securing doors and creating proper drainage. Everyone worked very
hard and we achieved so much in such a short space of time.

As well as the manual work, the volunteers had a fantastic time walking and playing with dogs. Some of the cadets even offered
to sponsor some of the dogs until they find loving homes.

To all The Eagle Crew – ‘you are always welcome at The Hope Sanctuary.  We really enjoyed your company and are very
grateful for your help.  It truly was a pleasure meeting you’.
